“Once in a Blue Moon …”
‘Thirteen silver moons in a year are,
Thirteen is the coven’s array.
Thirteen times at Esbat make merry,
For each golden year and a day.’
A Blue Moon 🔵 refers to the second of two full moons to fall within a single calendar month. Since the phase period of the moon is 29.5 days, you usually only have one full moon each month. But each month it’s a little earlier than the previous month and eventually you’ll find 2 full moons in a single month.According to Google the frequency of a blue moon is f=1.167×10-8 hertz thus converting to years:
Once in Blue Moon 🔵 = 2.7 years.
According to folklore, the term “Blue Moon” is at least 400 years old. The earliest known references to a blue moon were spoken of as examples of things that likely could never happen. Hence the expression “Once in a Blue Moon” which is still popular today. At times, the moon does look blue, and after the volcanic eruption of Krakatoa in 1883, the dust particles caused the moon to appear blue for two years. It can also be viewed as a link between the physical (masculine energy) and the spiritual (feminine energy), making communication with spirit easier and more apt to yield insightful and enlightened communications. The Blue Moon, is considered to have a rare energetic quality, even more powerful than a typical Full Moon. It is believed by many that the Blue Moon is a Moon of second chances.
