lunar eclipse

Lunar Eclipse

A Lunar eclipse occurs when the moon passes into the Earth’s shadow. This type of eclipse does not occur every year. But when it does, it’s a wonderful and magikal night. It lasts for only a few hours, so you need to plan your rituals well in advance. A lunar eclipse on a full moon is perfect for all purposes. Simply plan your spells to coordinate with the passing shadow. When the moon is in full eclipse, treat those few moments as if the moon were in it’s Dark phase. Some practitioners forgo magik work all together and use this time to honor the Goddess in a special ritual. An eclipse is the time to edit out any of the cosmic lunar energies that are not serving you! Just like a stag shedding its antlers, lunar eclipses invite us to let go of what isn’t serving the soul.

While full moons are best for taking action, during a lunar eclipse it’s best to wait to take that action until the eclipse is over. Same goes for the new moons..they are best for setting intentions and new beginnings..however during a solar eclipse, it’s best to not start anything new and reflect on what the eclipse is bringing to the surface.

A Lunar Eclipse can cause restlessness and even a bit of anxiety Be sure to add in some extra relaxation and self-care with my some tlc and this shower meditation is really relaxing and help you get some good Zzzz’s!

Shower Meditation

When you take a shower, visualize washing away all of your stress and anxiety, any jittery nerves that make you restless. Concentrate on how the water feels on your skin.
Now , envision the power and energy contained in the water washing away your negative thoughts, and allow that negative energy to flow easily down your body and out the drain.
Feel sadness, regrets, anger, depression and worries, washing right off you, easily flowing away.
Let it all flow down the drain…
Start to feel the lightness return to your body.
Enjoy the feeling of clarity of mind.
Let your soul feel free of all that does not serve your highest good.
You are ready for a new beginning.
