Breakfast is one of the most important meals of the day. I abide by the rule that eating a balanced and nutritious breakfast is key to keeping energy up during the day. I started drinking or eating smoothies at least once during the week. It helps change up my breakfast routine, and some of them are just delicious like this berry acai protein smoothie bowl.

Berry acai protein smoothie bowl recipe


  • 2 cups frozen berry mix (blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, raspberries)
  • 1 fresh or frozen banana
  • 2 tablespoons acai berry powder
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 scoop of vegan protein powder, I use Vega brand

Toppings I used (all are optional)

  • Blueberries

  • Pears
  • Kiwi
  • Passion fruit

So you go out for a run, on the boardwalk. Salty air, ocean breeze… Water somehow never tastes as good as it does in this moment!! Then it hits, I’m “hangry”. But I want something that feels good, not just tastes good. Something my body is craving even if it translates as doughnut. It’s not something fake and unnaturally sweet I want. It’s THIS!

1 acai packet

3 handful frozen mango (or any fruit)

1 Apple

2 Frozen bananas

Coconut  milk to taste and texture desired

Top it off with unsweetened coconut and toasted coconut, cacao nubs, granola,  banana and mango! A bowl full of sunshine and feel goods!
